Not So Horrible
This is the Horrible Thistle, so named because of its rather intimidating appearance. This specimen is a couple of feet tall; it can grow taller than a man. The swallowtail butterfly on one of its blossoms apparently doesn't find it so horrible, nor do other insects (next image).
